MOBOT was recently interviewed by Channel 8 regarding Singapore’s upcoming 2026 PMA regulations and how mobility scooter users can better prepare before the new rules officially begin on 1 June 2026.

As part of the transition into the new PMA framework, MOBOT shared how we are actively helping users upgrade from non-compliant mobility scooters through our guaranteed trade-in programme of up to $500 before 1 June 2026.

Many overseas or older mobility scooters may eventually face difficulties with registration, servicing, or legal usage under the new regulations. To help reduce unnecessary waste and support a safer transition, MOBOT is also collaborating with ALBA to safely dispose and recycle non-compliant mobility devices and reusable components responsibly.

At the same time, MOBOT has already started preparing our mobility scooters for the upcoming registration framework. From 1 June 2026 onwards, newly purchased MOBOT mobility scooters will progressively be registered with licence plates under LTA’s new PMA system.

Existing compliant MOBOT PMAs can still continue to be legally used during the transition period. When LTA rolls out the mobility scooter registration roving stations in mid-2027, MOBOT customers may also visit our service centre to reduce their PMA speed to the new 6km/h requirement and receive guidance on registration preparation.
