First Batch of MOBOT Mobility Scooters Now LTA-Approved! | MOBOT

🚨 Close to 100 MOBOT mobility scooters have already been successfully inspected and registered with LTA as of 9 May 2026 — and more approvals are coming soon.

As Singapore prepares for the new 2026 PMA regulations, MOBOT is proud to be among the first mobility retailers in Singapore to complete the inspection and registration process for multiple mobility scooter models under the new LTA framework.

This means customers can now purchase selected LTA-approved mobility scooters in Singapore with greater confidence, knowing their devices are already aligned with the upcoming regulations.

What’s Changing From 1 June 2026?

Under the new PMA rules:

  • Retailers can only sell LTA-approved mobility scooters
  • Registered Mobility Scooters come with:
    • LTA registration mark in front
    • Licence plate at the rear

  • Newly purchased mobility scooters must undergo:
    • Inspection
    • Registration
    • Ownership transfer
before legal use on public paths

These new processes also introduce:

  • Additional logistics requirements
  • Inspection & Registration costs

As a result, many mobility scooter prices in Singapore are expected to increase after 1 June 2026.

You Can Buy Before 1st Jun, Before Prices Increase

Many customers are choosing to secure their mobility scooters before the new regulations officially begin to avoid:
✅ Higher post-regulation prices
✅ Inspection and registration waiting time
✅ Additional administrative processes
✅ Limited early approved stock availability

Customers are also taking advantage of current promotional pricing before the market adjusts to the new compliance costs.

For elderly users and families planning ahead, buying earlier provides a smoother and more convenient transition into the new PMA system.

Good News For Existing Mobility Scooter Users

If you already own or purchase your mobility scooter before 1 June 2026:
✅ No immediate certification process is required
✅ Existing users only need to complete registration by 2028
✅ LTA will progressively introduce registration assistance booths across Singapore to support existing users during the transition

This gives existing users more time to adapt gradually without immediate disruption.

What MOBOT Is Doing To Support Customers

At MOBOT, we understand that the new PMA regulations may feel confusing for first-time buyers and elderly users.

✔️ Registering and inspecting mobility scooters early

Why Buying From Reliable Singapore Retailers Matters More Than Ever

With the new PMA regulations, purchasing mobility scooters from unreliable overseas sellers or non-compliant online platforms becomes a risk as the barrier of entry to sell LTA-approved mobility scooter is high now.

Buying from a trusted local retailer ensures:
✅ Properly registered legal devices
✅ Compliance with Singapore regulations
✅ Local warranty and servicing
✅ Safer and properly certified devices
